HumanInChain documentation methodology
How HumanInChain collects, reconciles, labels, corrects and publishes public case records.
Scope
HumanInChain records public information about executions, death sentences, deaths reported during protests and related cases in Iran. Publication of a record is not a legal conclusion about every aspect of the case.
Sources
Every indexable case page must have at least one public HTTPS source and a source-linked narrative, a verified date, or a confirmed protest-period label. Language editions of the same organization are not treated as separate independent sources.
Confidence labels
Verified facts, source reports, published estimates, source conflicts and unknown details are labeled separately. Aggregate estimates are never presented as counts of verified identities.
Names and portraits
Names, portraits and facts are displayed only from approved public records. HumanInChain does not generate or substitute a face when a person’s photograph has not been found and verified.
Updates and corrections
Records may be corrected when new sourcing becomes available. Update dates and source links are preserved, and correction requests are accepted through the public corrections process.
Privacy
Submitter contact details, private raw evidence, internal review notes and unpublished data are never included in public pages, feeds, downloadable datasets or sitemaps.
