Ali Rezaei: Two reports describe a 46-month prison sentence

Hengaw and Iran International published separate reports matching Ali Rezaei's identity, age of 28, residence in Amol, and the reported sentences. According to the reports, the Amol Revolutionary Court sentenced him to 46 months in prison in one case. In a separate case concerning an Instagram story about the 2023 death of Armita Geravand, he reportedly received a one-year suspended prison sentence.

Both sources report that Rezaei was arrested on January 5, 2026, during the protests and held for four months in the quarantine section of Amol Prison. They also report that he was denied access to a lawyer of his choosing and that his family had no information about his condition for approximately two weeks.

Claims that agents broke Rezaei's nose during his arrest and that he later went on hunger strike to protest torture and pressure remain attributed to Hengaw and Iran International.
