Iran Human Rights and Hengaw report that Shahram Sadeghi, a protester detained in connection with the January 2026 protests, was executed on 16 August 2026. Iran Human Rights later identified Ghezelhesar Prison as the execution site. State media made allegations against him, while Iran Human Rights reports that purported confessions were broadcast before legal proceedings began and that no independent information about the case or trial is available.
Iran Human Rights and Hengaw also report that Ghaem Hosseini, also known as Arian, was executed at Isfahan Central Prison on 20 August 2026. He was an Afghan national and a defendant in the Alikhani Square case. Sources differ on his age, reporting 20 or 21; HumanInChain does not treat that discrepancy as resolved.
Iran Human Rights, Hengaw and Kurdpa report that Majid Adineh was executed on 23 August 2026 after being detained in connection with the January protests in Karaj. The precise execution location has not been independently established: reports variously refer to Karaj or Alborz province, while another records the location as undisclosed. Rights organisations have raised serious concerns about secrecy, access to counsel and the use of forced confessions.
